Cribb & Associates was established by Ron Cribb in 1991 in the depths of a UK recession.
Ron had previously worked as Estates Manager for Pirelli at the time when they had over 220 branches trading as Central Tyre and SMC (Standard Motorist Centres). This included dealing with acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews and lease renewals on tyre and exhaust depots throughout the UK.
Ron left Pirelli in 1989 to join Rapleys thus continuing his involvement in the motor trade sector, gaining valuable experience in dealing with petrol filling stations, car dealerships, car hire depots and windscreen replacement outlets.
In February 1991, Ron joined the Wallis Partnership based in London whose clients at that time included British Car Rental, Mr Clutch, Rover Cars, Shell UK Oil and Superdrive Motorist Centres. At the end of 1991 Ron set up Cribb & Associates.
In 1999 Alisdair James joined the practice to concentrate on development and investment work which included advising on the trade park element of the ‘Pompey Centre’ in Portsmouth, one of the most successful developments of its kind in the country.
Cribb & Associates continues to concentrate on motor trade work with particular emphasis on the fast-fit and car repair workshop sector. Past and present clients include ATS, Arriva PLC, Autoglass, Bank of Scotland, Camberley Auto Factors, Lex Autocentres, Motorway Tyres, National Tyres, Shell Oil and Total Oil.
The practice now has the combined experience of 35 years working in the motor trade sector. In addition to this Ron has a degree in Land Management, is a Chartered Surveyor and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has spoken at various seminars on the valuation of motor trade premises and continues to be one of the country’s leading specialists in the motor trade sector.
